Welcome to GRE dictionary, a free online GRE test preparation and vocabulary building tool, including:
- Extensive GRE word list (10,000+ definitions for 6,500+ words)
- Audio pronunciation - every word features at least two audio pronunciations (different voices).
- User contributions - you can comment on any word definition. User input helps us identify definitions that can be improved. Our goal is to have concise and clear definitions, that are both easy to understand and easy to remember.
We are still in beta version, and will be rolling out features that are still being tested in the coming days.
The features you can look forward include:
Dictionary
- User word ratings that allows bringing you words you need to work on more frequently than others.
- Advanced algorithm for selecting a next word based on user word ratings.
Self-testing
- Several self-testing modes: flashcard, jeopardy, multiple-choice.
- Each self-testing mode allows you to compare your statistics with other users, i.e. you get to see at what percentile you are.
- Advanced algorithm for selecting a next question. Questions that you have problems with will be occurring more frequently; while questions you know answers to will no longer appear, or will appear rarely.
- FREE: you no longer need to pay for those test preparation materials by large publishing corporations. All the content in this website will be freely available to anyone.
